When your workers’ compensation claim is approved, you will generally receive two-thirds of the wages you earned prior to your injury or illness. In cases where the injury is regarded as critical, you may receive up to 80% of your previous wages for up to a six-month period.

However, Florida sets a cap on how much of your weekly wages you will receive. This cap is adjusted on a yearly basis. For example, if two-thirds of your weekly wage is more than the cap, you will only receive the capped amount.

The type of illness or injury you suffered will also dictate the duration of your lost wage benefits.

Temporary disability wage benefits will continue for a limited time per state law. Permanent disability benefits continue indefinitely.
